【Bamboo and bamboo grass】竹と笹

　竹と笹の違いを、みなさまはご存じでしょうか？

　恥ずかしながら、竹に生えた枝を笹と思い込んでいましたが、

昨日見つけたTwitterで、全く別の植物であることが分かったので、

ご紹介します。

「竹」は、節目から生える枝が２本あるもの。「笹」は、節目から枝が３本以上あるもの。

Do you know the difference between bamboo and bamboo grass?

I’m embarrassed to say that I used to think that the branches that grew on

bamboo were bamboo grasses, but I found out yesterday on Twitter that

they are a completely different plant.

Bamboo has two branches growing from a joint. Bamboos grass called Sasa has three or more branches growing from a node.
